Paintings
My paintings are built through layers of individual strokes, each carrying its own color, texture, and movement. Up close, the image breaks apart into marks, revealing small worlds and unexpected details within each stroke. From a distance, these individual gestures come together to form a larger image like a landscape, a place or something more specific.
I am interested in the way perception changes with distance. What first appears to be a collection of independent marks gradually becomes a complete image, while moving closer reveals that the image is made up of countless small moments. The paintings invite the viewer to move between these two ways of seeing: to experience the whole while remaining curious about what is happening within each individual stroke.
