Fragmentos
Fragmentos was born during the pandemic, at a time when I was fortunate enough to isolate at a beach house. I brought clay with me so I could continue creating, making vases and experimenting with new textures.
One day, a piece of clay became too dry to work with. Frustrated, I began breaking it into small pieces. Instead of throwing them away, I started placing the fragments onto a vase that was originally meant to have my Corales texture. I loved the result.
That moment became the beginning of Fragmentos.
I began to see those little pieces as a reflection of life itself. Sometimes things break apart and become fragments, but when we bring them together, connect them, and learn to appreciate them, they can become something beautiful.
My first Fragmentos vase was glazed in my favorite bright pink, which is a color that felt like the perfect beginning for a collection born from finding beauty in the unexpected.
