Medusa

Inspired by the flowing, organic nature of each piece and the way its curves move, resembling the graceful movement of jellyfish in the ocean; The name of the collection came to me naturally, Medusa.

Each Medusa piece begins as a slab of clay, which I shape upside down allowing gravity to guide the form and develop the curves I am looking for. The process relies heavily on imagination and intuition, as I cannot fully see the final result until the piece has dried. Once the clay reaches the leather-hard stage, I am able to turn the piece upright and reveal the form that has developed. As a result, each Medusa is a unique piece with its own organic curves and character.
