Artist Bio

Rebeca is a Mexican multidisciplinary artist born and raised in Hermosillo, Sonora. She moved to Buenos Aires, Argentina, to study at university, where she lived for ten years. Moving between northern Mexico and Argentina shaped her visual language and continues to influence her relationship with color, form, architecture, and space.

Her practice began with ceramics and has expanded to include painting, sculptural vessels, functional objects, furniture, and architectural pieces. Working intuitively and embracing the traces of the hand, Rebeca explores color, movement, texture, and imperfection across different mediums.

Her work moves between one-of-a-kind pieces, collections, and site-specific collaborations with architects, designers, and hospitality projects. Her ceramics have been presented internationally through 1000 Vases during Paris Fashion Week and at Salone del Mobile in Milan, and have been commissioned for projects including The Ritz-Carlton, Punta Mita. She has also developed custom collections for restaurants and collaborated on architectural ceramic elements, including wall sconces.

More recently, Rebeca has expanded her practice into painting, carrying her exploration of color, gesture, organic forms, and materiality into a new medium. Rather than drawing from a single source of inspiration, she works from the places she encounters, the environments she inhabits, and the visual experiences gathered through travel.

Her practice is rooted in curiosity and an ongoing exploration of how objects, images, and spaces can evoke emotion, movement, and connection.
